- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of uncooked quinoa
- Salt to taste
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- A few tablespoons of corn flour if needed
Bring your water to a boil in a medium pot. Add your quinoa and cook with the lid on at a simmer until the water is gone. Be sure to watch carefully. Once the quinoa is cooked, add it to a bowl and mix in the other ingredients. Only add the flour if your mixture is too runny or would not form well. Heat a pan to medium-high heat with a moderate amount of oil like avocado oil. Take about 4 tablespoons of the quinoa mixture (you don’t need to measure) and flatten and shape it in the pan with a spoon. Flip when the side on the pan is cooked enough to hold together when flipped. Each burger will take about 5-10 minutes total to cook. When they are golden brown and not squishy, you can take them off and put them on a paper towel to get rid of excess oil. Serve warm. Enjoy!
