- 1 1/2 cups of tomato paste
- 1/4 cup of white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder

Simply blend all of your ingredients in a medium bowl. Put in a jar for storage and keep refrigerated. Or you could put it in an old ketchup bottle. Nobody would be able to tell the difference!
Why this recipe?
You may ask, why do you need this when ketchup is such a basic thing an so easy to come by. First, it may save you a little bit of money. But mostly, if you make your own ketchup, you can make sure that there are no added chemicals in it and that it is healthy. Popular ketchup brands like Heinz use things like high fructose corn syrup, and extra natural flavoring. This recipe is healthier, while still tasting nearly identical. Plus, it is low sugar, and low salt!
