Non-Deep Fried Onion Rings


  • 1 yellow onion (any kind works but I used a yellow onion and it worked well)
  • 1/2 cup of potato startch
  • 1/2 cup of corn flour
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 1/4 – 1 1/2 cups of water


First, peel your onion and cut the ends off. Cut your ings to about 1/2 inch thick. now, you will make your batter. Mix the rest of your ingredients together in a medium bowl. Heat a pan with a coat of oil to prevent sticking to medium/high heat. The onion rings will splatter, so if you are scared of hot oil you might want to coom them at a lower temperature. Dip your rings into the batter and then cook them in the pan for less than a minure on each side, using a spatula to flip them. Put on a plate and enjoy!
